Treatments

Treatments

We offer check-ups, fillings, emergency dental care, dental hygiene treatment, crowns and bridges, implants, veneers, and more. Our tooth whitening is very popular and is offered at a very affordable price. We offer two different tooth whitening methods; laser whitening at our practice and whitening that you easily and safely carry out at home.

At City Dental, quality always comes first. An internal group of six experienced dentists meets regularly to go through all the treatments performed at City Dental. This to ensure the best possible quality of dental care.

We encourage our patients to go to the dentist every year or every second year, depending on the overall health of their mouths. If you have many old fillings that need checking or if you have had other problems, we recommend an annual check-up. If you have healthy teeth, checking your teeth every second year may be enough. However it's always advisable to have regular check-ups, both from an economic and a health perspective.

Check-up
Before City Dental starts a treatment, a check-up is carried out and a cost estimate will be given.
During the check-up, we look for cavities and poor fillings that need to be replaced. We also check gums, tongue and palate. In some cases, examining the temporomandibular joint and masseter muscles may also be necessary.

We also do X-rays to get a comprehensive picture of your dental status. At City Dental, we use the latest digital X-ray technology, which allows us to quickly get the image on a monitor. Digital X-rays require a lower dose of radiation and are more environmentally friendly. Digital X-rays help us show and explain what we see.

After the check-up, we give you a diagnosis and recommend a course of action. You also get a cost estimate that you can compare with that of other dentists.

Tooth whitening
The baseline colour of a person's teeth may differ from that of other people's. Properly performed tooth whitening can give you whiter teeth and a beautiful smile.

At City Dental, we now offer two different tooth whitening methods.

One of the methods is the gradual at-home whitening, where you whiten your teeth at home, wearing custom-made whitening trays while you sleep for a number of nights.

The second method is the in-practice whitening, where we whiten your teeth with a Polus Laser System from the comfort of a dentist's chair. With this method, your teeth are bleached directly.

Fillings
At City Dental, we perform different kinds of fillings, depending on what best suits the individual patient. Anaesthetics provide a painless filling and are optional. We start by removing the decayed part of the tooth, then the cavity is filled with a tooth-coloured composite material. Finally the filling is trimmed and adjusted to fit your bite. We also replace fillings when necessary.

Root canal treatment
If the pulp is damaged by deep tooth cavity, you need a root canal treatment. The bacteria that has penetrated the tooth through the cavity can kill the pulp. A root canal treatment usually requires more than one dental appointment. First, all decay is removed, then the root canal is opened to remove the dental pulp. The root canal is then filled again with an antibacterial agent. At your next appointment, the tooth is filled with a material that replaces dead tissue; it works much like when you have a tooth filled. After the tooth is sealed, it should be restored with a permanent filling or crown.

New teeth

Dentures
A denture can replace some or all teeth, and lost gum. We produce dentures specifically for you and your needs. We provide full or partial dentures. Partial dentures are the most common and are attached to your teeth. If you've lost all the teeth in a jaw, a full denture is sucked to your palate.

Dental implants
At City Dental, we provide different implant systems to be able to offer the treatment that is best suited for each individual case. If you've lost a tooth, implants are the best option, as a permanently fixed artificial tooth functions like your natural teeth. Of course, the aesthetic aspect is also very important; the tooth should look and feel as natural as possible.

Veneers
If you have stained teeth, gaps or ugly fillings, this is something you can come to terms with; a veneer could be the solution. A veneer is custom-made to your tooth, and the results tend to be very good.

Crown
If a tooth is significantly damaged or if a large part of the original dental crown is gone, a new crown is usually the best option. Part of the original tooth is drilled away, to allow the crown to sit comfortably on top of it. The original tooth provides the support for the new crown. If there is only a small piece left of the original tooth, it can be extended with an abutment to attach the crown.

Bridge
If you are missing multiple teeth, a dental bridge may be the solution for you. If the adjacent teeth are healthy, they're used as anchors and support for the bridge. You can also attach dental bridges to dental implants. A dental bridge, bridges the gap between two teeth to a full set of upper or lower teeth. Our dental technicians will make sure that your custom-made bridge fits your smile comfortably.

Occlusal splints

Nightguard
We can help you if you grind your teeth at night. Teeth grinding is often due to stress and wears your teeth down. It can also cause jaw pain and headaches. At City Dental, we design a personalized nightguard, after assessing your particular problems. We make an impression of your teeth and you can pick up your splint within 1-2 weeks. With our comfortable splints you will be able to sleep well again.

Mandibular advancement splint
City Dental's snoring specialist can help you if you suffer from snoring. We design a mandibular advancement splint, which is customized to your upper and lower jaw and helps keep your airway open while you sleep.

The device works in three different ways:
•    It keeps your lower jaw in a forward position.
•    It keeps your tongue away from the soft palate and the posterior pharyngeal wall.
•    It tightens the soft tissue and muscles of the pharynx.

Mouthguards
We adjust the thickness of your mouthguard to the sport you play. The mouthguard is made of layers of different materials, a soft inside and a hard outside. The mouthguard can't completely eliminate damage to the teeth caused by a blow to the mouth, but limits the damage considerably.

Mouthguard for hockey players
During the season 2003/2004, the Swedish Ice Hockey Association adopted a new rule, according to which all players born 1984 or later, who are allowed to play without a visor, must wear a mouthguard. The mouthguard must be made by a dentist.

Mouthguard for martial artists
If you practice martial arts (such as Thai boxing, boxing, or rugby), there's often a set of rules requiring that you wear a mouthguard when practicing your sport. Boxers must, for example, always wear individually fitted mouthguards.

Tartar
Almost everyone gets tartar. Tartar can't be removed through toot brushing or flossing. It can only be removed through professional cleaning by your dental hygienist or dentist.

Tartar is a form of hardened dental plaque. When plaque accumulates and is not removed from teeth, it can harden and turn into tartar. In the long term, tartar can cause both periodontitis and caries. It's important to remove tartar in time. Otherwise it can cause gingivitis and periodontitis.
